Hello all who read this blog.
Granted this is being posted in the early days of November. My October was super hectic I wasn't sure which way I was going. The reason why I call October the best month ever is it's my birthday month. Also I have two very dear friends that share the month for birthdays. We are all roughly ten days apart in birthdays. Give or take a day. My birthday falls each year on the Tenth which is pretty cool as October is the Tenth month. So you could have imagined my excitement in 2010 when my birthday was 10-10-10. Five years on, I celebrated my Twentieth birthday with my Mum, Brother, and childhood best friend and our neighbours. Small gathering, this year my big paint mare didn't try to drink my rum! Miss Pirate Horse! Writing wise October was a bit of a drought. I wrote bits and pieces but nothing major. I'm getting back on track with that and my writing is back in full force. Also in October, I have mouthed and broken my young horse into Harness. He went through the process with flying colours. I couldn't have been more proud of him. Now he is on holidays for a bit because he deserves it. He is such a well mannered little horse.
On the publishing front, I haven't gotten much further in my ventures as I have been so busy. When I have a spare five minutes I will get onto that. Since it is four days into November, I'm going to tell you about what has happened so far. Yesterday, history was made with the Melbourne Cup, the biggest horse racing event of the year. I know a lot of people hate it as so many horses have died. But you have to think of it in a way where 'How many horses die in other fields of sport that you don't hear about it?' Yes, horses die but they are breed to run. Those who don't make it to the track yes there are tragic stories about them being sold to the 'doggers' but many do get rescued and go live long lives with eventers. Hate on racing all you wish but I will say this. Yesterday history was made. The winning horse 'Prince of Penzance' was ridden by a FEMALE jockey. The sport of Kings was won by a Queen! Such a beautiful story. It is certainly a day no one will forget. Congratulations Michelle Payne and family on your fantastic win on Prince Of Penzance.
